COVID Pricing
The price of a COVID-19 test is $114 (collection fee not included). COVID-19 tests are covered by insurance and uninsured patient testing will be covered through CARES Act funding. You can call the number on the back of your insurance card to confirm that your COVID-19 testing will be covered by insurance. If you do not have insurance and are concerned about paying for the test, you can ask us about programs that help with the cost. For self-pay, we will seek reimbursement from any applicable government programs which may provide coverage for the test. If government funding will not cover the cost of the test, then the expected cash discount payment from the patient will be $57 (for the test only, collection fee not included).
Beginning January 1, 2019, the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services are requiring hospitals and health systems to post their “current, standard charges.” Hospital charges are the amount a hospital bills for a service. Hospitals are reimbursed generally at rates well below charges. Hospital charges may include bundled procedures, personnel, services and supplies. An example would be room rates that include the space, equipment, nursing personnel and supplies.
If a patient is attempting to shop for medical services, he or she should contact their insurance carrier to ensure they understand what costs will be covered, and to what extent the patient will be personally responsible for service. Patients should contact the hospital directly for further details regarding hospital charges.
