Healthcare at a Distance
Telemedicine is a way to provide clinical health care at a distance. This helps to provide access to medical services that otherwise would not be available to our rural community. Our telemedicine equipment is always ready for an e-Emergency situation which would allow the Providers at the Douglas County Memorial Hospital to consult with an emergency Provider from Sioux Falls on an emergency patient in real time. The technology allows the Provider in Sioux Falls to see the patient, vitals, and to view what the Provider at the Douglas County Memorial Hospital is doing.
Specialty Providers are also available for clinical visits based on availability. These visits are done through a live feed through the equipment, so you can see and hear your Provider in real time. Below is a list of specialties that are currently available for these clinical encounters through Telemedicine at the Douglas County Memorial Hospital.
