Visiting Hours

Guidelines are provided for visiting hours in order to provide proper rest and comfort of patients, while supporting the need for families/friends to be with the patient.

Regular Hospital Hours……9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. daily

Visitation Policies for Maternity Unit
9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. daily

No visitors under age 5, except healthy siblings
Fathers/significant others may stay overnight

*Flexibility with the above visiting hours will be given to families who find these hours inconvenient. Families/friends will be asked to discuss their needs with the nurse manager/nursing supervisor or charge nurse so other arrangements can be made.

People who are ill with flu-like symptoms( fever with cough or sore throat), or are simply not feeling well, should not visit patients at all.

No Smoking Policy

Smoking is no longer permitted on any property owned by Douglas County Memorial Hospital or any of its properties. This includes buildings, parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, and within personal vehicles parked on hospital property. The ban also extends beyond the main medical center campus to its off-site locations, Prairie Health Clinics in Armour, Corsica and Stickney and Prairie Villa in Armour.
