DCMH Donates $20,000 to Support Local Ambulance Services
October 7, 2024At Douglas County Memorial Hospital (DCMH), we believe in supporting the health and safety of our local communities, not just within our walls, but beyond them. As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare, DCMH recently donated $10,000 each to the Corsica and Armour Ambulance Associations, totaling $20,000 to support these critical services.
In a special presentation, DCMH Board President Joel Baier handed over the donation checks to representatives from both ambulance associations. Shelly Menning and Laura Woerner were present to accept the donation on behalf of the Corsica Ambulance Association, while Nicole Neugebauer and Ashley Love accepted on behalf of the Armour Ambulance Association.
Why This Support Matters
Ambulance services play a vital role in our rural communities, providing life-saving care and swift transportation to those in need. The donations will help both the Corsica and Armour Ambulance Associations continue their essential work and further enhance their equipment, training, and operational capacities. These services are often a first point of contact for emergency care, making their support a critical component of the healthcare continuum.
Our Commitment to Community Health
As a healthcare provider deeply embedded in the community, DCMH recognizes the invaluable contributions of these associations. By providing financial support, we aim to strengthen emergency response capabilities, ensuring that our communities have access to high-quality, timely care when they need it most.
Looking Ahead
This donation is just one example of DCMH’s dedication to fostering health and safety within Douglas County and surrounding areas. We remain committed to supporting initiatives that improve healthcare access and outcomes for all our neighbors.
Thank you to the Corsica and Armour Ambulance Associations for their tireless service. We look forward to continuing our partnership in building a healthier, safer community.
